An affinity group represents a gathering of like-minded individuals who often have a common purpose to accomplish uncommon results. Examples are professional, community service, charitable, sports, and faith-based organizations. I always recommend you join such organizations for the collective good that is often accomplished.
A helpful side benefit is often times you will meet people who may become interested in the products and services you offer as a financial advisor. Many, many of my best clients resulted from my membership in the Rotary Club and the United Way. I got to know very successful professionals, executives, and business owners who became clients as a result of my affinity with them through membership. This approach is honorable in every way and can be a great business builder.
